It is important to note that our masks are reusable and you can keep them clean by simply washing them. Originally FFP2 standards states that masks must not be disposable however revised Public Health England advice was reported in The BMJ "The new guidance states that fluid resistant surgical masks and disposable respirators (FFP3/FFP2/N95) can be reused if they are neither damaged nor soiled and if they are folded such that the outer surface is held inward and against itself and stored in a sealable bag." So a mask that can be reused by washing cannot meet these standards however we have noticed some companies claim that their products meet FFP2 standards and they clearly do not. SmartCover is tested to the EN 14683 standard. The only standard which takes into account bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) tests, breathability, bioburden and splash tests. Accredited laboratories have tested our masks for Bacterial & Viral Filtration Efficiency (BFE) >98% even after 30 washes. The BFE for an FFP2 mask >94% and cannot be washed. Our fabric technology consists of a woven nano outer shell, an antibacterial inner layer and medical-grade washable filters. They offer full coverage and are droplet resistance with an integrated nose bridge. They have Silver AG+ hypoallergenic antiviral inner layer that meets OETKO standards and have been tested in accredited labs. So you can feel confident in the knowledge that our multi-use masks have a 4% better bacterial and viral filtration efficiency than a single use FFP2 grade mask.
